Evan, one for you. Is this something you've already fixed?

Pinx, could you run the installer with 'ubiquity --debug' (no sudo, you don't need it), reproduce this, and attach /var/log/installer/debug and /var/log/syslog to this bug? Thanks in advance. You might also like to try a current daily build to see if it's one of the things we've fixed since Herd 5.

A few days ago, I let Ubuntu upgrade itself.
Can I run ubiquity now without ruining my current Ubuntu installation?
I'm a newbie at Linux, so I'll wait a bit to hear from Evan if there is still a need for more information.

I believe I fixed this already, however can you run `sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install ubiquity` in a console on the Live CD, Pinx? Just start the installer by typing `ubiquity -d` in a console to enable debug mode, and run it until it crashes or to the "Ready to install" screen. I cannot guarantee that the partitioner will not modify your system, but I am fairly certain that it will not. Once you get to the "Ready to install" screen, cancel the installer and attach /var/log/syslog and /var/log/installer/debug to this bug report.

Thanks!
