Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Reviewing your log files attached to this bug report it seems that you were installing using wubi and that there is a problem with the disk to which you are trying to install Ubuntu or with the Ubuntu image on your Windows partition. I'd recommend performing a back up of your existing operating system and then investigating the situation. One thing you may do is uninstall wubi and reinstall it as this will create a new Ubuntu image on the disk from which to install. Other measures you might take include checking cable connections for your disks and using software tools to investigate the health of your hardware. In the event that is is not in fact an error with your hardware please set the bug's status back to New. Thanks and good luck!

status: New → Invalid
importance: Undecided → Low
