Hi. Thanks for the report. Which partition did you try to install it on? hda1 is plenty large, while hda3 at 2.2 looks just slightly small.

Hi Henrik,

It's been a while, but I hope this is still helpful. I'm a newbie so it's
difficult for me to say for sure what went wrong. Part of the problem is
that the whole thing crashed on me a couple of times, so I can't go back to
tell you how it was set up. I'm holding off until my brother can oversee
the installation, as he has a lot more experience than I do.

My bet is that I have to erase the hard drive (it's a new 250G Seagate)
because I might have partitioned it and used the partition that was too
small. I'm guessing that I installed Ubuntu on a partition that was too
small, but I never received any alerts and it seemed like I had plenty of
space. But as I said, I'm not sure that I partitioned it in the first
place.

Thanks for the response!

Yes, looking at the loogs again it seems you have resized an ext3 partition, but only btaken about 2gb from it which is not enough. The issue that you should have been warned about that is bug 77966. Thanks again for reporting!
