Using Feisty Desktop build 2007.02.11 i3876 - installation fails at step 5 when trying to identify partition(s). Let it run for about 3 hours and nothing. I'm running Dell pIII-933, 20gb IDE, w/intel mobo, 512 ram, ATI 7500-64mb video.

Seems to work fine as a live disc.

Thanks for your report. This is also bug 76976, and has since been fixed; your log files indicate that you're using a much older build than you say you are, so please re-check. If you experience a similar problem with a current build, then it's not the same bug, and I'd appreciate it if you could file a new bug and attach current logs.

Thanks for your answer, but I've installed Ubuntu Feisty by the CD alternate i386 and it's good.

If you are need a new experience of install with the LiveCD, I can do it. I've a another partition empty.

Else, I don't understand why my HDD is recognized in SCSI, while it's IDE.

Enclosed, the files of the new install of a Feisty by the CD alternate i386.

Sorry for my english, Azema. ;-)
