Ubiquity fails to load if launched from the menu (Menu > System > Install Xubuntu 11.10) I would assume because of /rofs/usr/

Thanks for reporting this bug and any supporting documentation. Since this bug has enough information provided for a developer to begin work, I'm going to mark it as confirmed and let them handle it from here.
This bug only affects the desktop i386 images, amd64 desktop images work. This breaks ubiquity completely when run from the menu instead of the desktop launcher.
