Bug Description

Dapper Drake he software for a Compaq Laptop computer having an Intel ll or lll hard drive with 1 CD for PC burned and provided by Canonical recently. As this happened during the initial install. I have also noticed that the starting browser in many apps are "not responding"and I can either 'force the browser to quit now" or "provide you , the developer with some details, so it can be fixed" according to the error message. This is obviously not the Compaq Laptop that I am trying to install the Ubuntu OS on, since it has crashed and is not working at the moment. The error message says to attach files"/var/log/installer/syslog,/var/log/syslog, and /var/log /partman (There are no files since it happened during the initial install).Traceback (most recent call last)File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages /ubiquity/front end /gtkui.py line 706 in on_next__clicked_self.db filter _ok_handler() File"/usr/lib /python2.4 /site-packages/ ubiquity/components/kbd_chooser.py line 76 in ok _handler update _x_config (keyboard) FGile"/usr/lib?python2.4/site-packages/ubiquity/kbd_chooser,line 462 in update_x_config new config.close() IO error:[errno 28] no space left on device
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me on this install.By the way, it does not erase any of the prior open source OS Lormalux OS 4.0 distr provided by Red Hat, I think , as it says it would do on the ubuntu CD cover provided from Canonical.

I thought I provided much info. I do not know how to provide the balance of any info you may need ??? I am not being difficult ??? For example:How do you attach files /var/log installer/sys log , /var /log /syslog, and /var /log/partman... is that the info you mean ???
Meanwhile, I do not have a working OS in Ubuntu.

If I can possibly get a burned copy of "feisty" over the internet. will it run if the system crashed, and not working or does it have to be fixed first in order to run satisfactorily.BTW, I just saw a lot of things I have to do initially which were not done by me. Is that why the O System Crashed. ???I did not have to do all of this on the Red Hat Fedora System that is being replaced. ????I ran the Ubuntu system many times trying to install it before. I adjusted the Partitioning just prior to Crashing.it was way off I think, in that it had used less than 10% in the front end, had1.

Thanks for your report. I'm afraid that one of your partitions seems to be too small to complete an Ubuntu desktop installation successfully. Bug 48355 notes that the partitioner should have warned you about this.
