Thanks for your report. This is also bug 76976, and has since been fixed; run 'sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install ubiquity' from a terminal window before starting the installer to pick up the fix.

I did that and it created another problem. The hard drive install on the desktop does not work now and the install won't start.
I don't know what if any files you need. Can I just install herd 1 and do updates to herd 2? herd 1 installed without any problems for me.

Mel, you may be able to install Herd1 and run updates (though this stopped working for me at one point), but it may be better to install from the 20070118 daily live CD as it contains a great many bug fixes and seems to work better (Herd2 didn't install for me at all).

If you do have problems, please open a new bug report: One problem per bug report, and this one's done!

Given that this a dupe and that the master bug is fixed, we should probably stop updating this report! (I'm not taking my own advice so that folks know that your comment was addressed - but we should now stop). Please don't respond to this, but open new reports if you run into new bugs.

Thanks!
