Bug Description
Boot amd64 live install on Aspire 5253 proceeding normally then hangs forever on detecting file systems. There is a USB hard drive and the notebook hard drive each with partitions, including Windows 7 on the notebook hard drive dual booted with Narwhal.
How do I get past "detecting file systems"?
Thanks, Jerry

I saw a similar hang on an install over an existing Arch install (which had separate /, /boot, and /home partitions, formatting all except /home). Unfortunately, I only had half an hour to play with it, while at a pub, and couldn't see the cause.
I haven't been able to recreate the issue at home.
