Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

Even with the automatic partitioner it is possible to get in a situation where you try to install on a / partition that is too small. There should be a warning in this case. The case for manual partitioning is more complicated and will be treated as a separate bug.

This bug will be a place-holder for duplicates. The crash logs can often look very different, depending on where it crashed (how much space was allocated), but it's still the same bug -- the space should be checked and the user warned/stopped.

I'm making as high priority because someone who selects automated partitioning would expect it to 'just work'. In the manual case (which is more complicated to fix) we can share some of the blame with the user who could be expected to know the various disk requirements.
