Just can't install Ubuntu 11.04 (and 10.10 etc) on my Acer Aspire x3900

Thanks for your report. This is also bug 739632, recently fixed.

(The second problem that Jean-Baptiste noticed is probably just the result of trying to run ubiquity a second time after the failure.)
