Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

On booting from the 11.04 liveCD, an error is reported to the screen after a hang of maybe 5 mins. Then I'm dropped into a desktop session (installer told me this was going to happen) when running 'install ubuntu 11.04 from the desktop, I get the ubiquity crash and am unable to proceed. I've attached syslog as directed, but I couldn't find partman anywhere :(

Testing natty 11.04 n thinkpad t42 for you.

With todays updates the installed 11.04 get hosed, several mount errors that stop the whole bootup in standard and save mode. So i decide to do a fresh install, used the 16.03.2011 iso image on a usb stick.

The desktop shows some crashes from compiz, but ubiquity is unstartable. If the icon was clicked, the waiting pointer disappears after 5 seconds and a requester told about the crash. In this state the installed 11.04 is lost and a new one cannot be installed. Waiting for the next iso.......
