using the 32bit desktop 6.10 iso I could not install to a disk already
formated to ext3 containing *only* /root and /home without selecting
the reformat switch.

on my other desktop, I installed the 64bit alternate 6.10 iso under
the same conditions and it worked perfectly.

therefore the problem might be isolated to the desktop isos. the
problems happens on the last screen where you have to select the "/"
and other points where partitions are mounted, and where you tick
reformat.

I think there are many people who would like a clean install and to
keep their /home intact. I have 60G on the 80G disk that I dont want
erased.
