Thanks for your bug report. Could you possibly attach /var/log/installer/syslog file too? It seems like bug 47046 to me, but it ought to be fixed 6.10 already. Thanks in advance!

I would, but after that crash I tried installing again and it went through just fine...I don't know whether that is good news or bad news for you :).

Rejecting as the initial reporter can not reproduce the bug anymore (and pore reproducibility due to CD read errors). This was really a kernel bug, in combination with crashes in zlib_inflate, which should be fixed.
