You probably meant to say kubuntu 6.10 RC ?
Versions on Ubuntu are based on year/month of the release year (6=2006) and month (10=october).

Anyway, could you please attach /var/log/installer/syslog, /var/log/syslog, and /var/log/partman to this bug, by commenting on the bug's web page? Thanks in advance.

Paul, the logs are behind the "View original description" link, which also indicates that this was actually from Kubuntu 6.06.

Thanks for your report. Due to some reliability problems with GRUB and XFS, you need to use a non-XFS root filesystem or create a non-XFS /boot filesystem. The fact that the partitioner doesn't warn you about this up-front is also bug 47848, and is fixed in 6.06.1.

Can someone please remove me from this thread? I get error reports evcery
day for an OS I no longer use! I no longer wish to receive any messages
from Ubuntu or Canonical.
