This is reported while using the installer, from both in the "install Kubuntu" menu presented upon login, as well as from the "Install Kubuntu 10.10" link in the desktop folder.

Seems to be the same as bug 528034, but possibly a regression?
Possible it's identical to bug 652290, but no information is available on that bug

Clicking on "update this installer" at the start of installation does not help bypass this bug.

For the record, this happens as soon as you click on "Forward" after selecting the default "English" as the language of installation.

Apparently, you can bypass this by clicking on language selection away from "English", then returning to "English".

It should still be fixed, but at least that work around worked for me.
