"Check disc for defects" is wrong wording for live USB

I downloaded a post-RC Kubuntu 10.10 amd-64 nightly build and used usb-creator to make a bootable USB out of a FAT32 partition on my flash drive, and booted my PC from it.
The startup menu (I think /cdrom/
Check disc for defects
But I'm pretty sure this option doesn't check my hard drive for defects, it only checks the "Live CD", in my case the first partition of my USB flash drive. The wording is confusing.
If I start Kubuntu from this startup menu, the "Kubuntu 10.10 Installation process" says "You can try Kubuntu without making any changes to your computer, directly from this USB disk." Note the last two words, the installer program figures out what device the installer booted from. It would be nice if the boot menu was similarly able to change its menu to e.g.
Check install USB drive for defects
or
Check Live CD-ROM disc for defects
etc.
Although I'm running Kubuntu, I suspect this grub menu is present on Ubuntu and other flavors of Live CDs with the same issue.
