Bug Description
Binary package hint: ubiquity
Installation blocked by requirement of partition write access, although the partition table is already set up correctly. This may be related to ticking the "format" checkbox.
Use case:
Advanced user / developer; frequent test installs of RCs and betas to a secondary partition on my main drive. Prefer to install via grub loopback from a boot-iso partion, to improve install speed and to avoid burning use-once install media. Obviously cannot unmount the boot-iso partition to permit the unnecessary partition change.
This report is possibly related to #598743, but is not restricted to Xubuntu, still applies to 10.10, and with a more compelling explanation of severity and applicability.
