Ubuquity installs en-US instead of en-AU when Australia is selected

Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

Installed Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick (i386-desktop beta)

1. Selected "English" as language on "Welcome" page
2. Selected "Australia/Melbourne" as location on "Where Are You?" page
3. Selected USA as keyboard layout on "Keyboard Layout" page

Australia uses a USA keyboard layout (mainly because our currency is also "dollars"). It does not have its own. Ubiquity installed the en-US localisation where it should have installed en-AU. It appears that it is basing its localisation assumptions on the keyboard layout, where it should be paying more attention to the location that was selected on the previous page.

I have attached screenshots of the options selected in ubiquity, and screenshots from gnome-language-selector in the resultant install.

I believe this is fixed in ubiquity 2.3.19. Can you please try again with today's daily-live CD (http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live ) and let us know whether or not it is in fact fixed?

Thanks a bunch!

I just tried it on the 20100920 live CD, and the problem still exists.

Is there a chance that:
a) Language-support is reporting the wrong language (is there another way to verify it)?
b) This setting has been stored in my local user profile (retained during reinstall - can it be reset)?
