Bug Description
Binary package hint: ubiquity
Two hard drives installed, sda as reported by install and linux is 82 GB IDE. sdb is 120 GB sata.
Alpha 1 installs O.K.
Alpha 2, Grub can't find the UUID as installed on sda because it only looks at sdb.
Pretty hard for me to get printed evidence of this since Grub doesn't even find the initial screen, however I do see:
fstab is in error since in fact install was on sda8 not sdb8:
"# / was on /dev/sdb8 during installation
UUID=0672c821-
/dev/sdb2 none swap sw 0 0"
while in fact the install was on partition sda8:
fdisk -l says:
Disk /dev/sda: 82.3 GB, 82348277760 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 10011 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x00025e92

Partition table entries are not in disk order

/dev/sdb1 * 1 14593 117218241 83 Linux < that's a Karmic whole disk
Alpha 2 install from CD can't even boot since Grub can't find the UUID by looking on the wrong drive, so I had to install Alpha 1 CD and update to current.
