Bug Description
Binary package hint: ubiquity
Testing Lucid Beta Live CD AMD64 (Apr, 5 2010) as a fresh install on a system with Karmic and Jaunty and Grub2 already installed on /dev/sdb (originally /sda but after some disk fiddling remained at /sdb). /sda is a new disk. Both Nautilus and GParted on the Live CD recognize both disks and are able to mount existing partitions. Install 10.04 cannot detect previous Ubuntu versions or /sdb. Only offers repartitioning of /sda (and a Legacy useless 100 meg ATA Zip Drive) which is not what I want to do. I guess this leaves me with the Alternate CD. If I remember correctly this is not a new issue, I might have observed it in the past.

Can you please run the installer in debug mode (select "Try Ubuntu", wait for the desktop to load, press alt-F2 and type `ubiquity -d`) until you get to the partitioning screen where your disk is not appearing. Press alt-F2 again and type `apport-collect 556225`. This will attach debugging logs to this bug report, which will be necessary for us to diagnose the bug you're seeing.
If possible, please do this with the latest daily-live CD (http:// cdimage. ubuntu. com/daily- live) rather than beta 1.
Thanks!
