Grub error code 10 during 6.06 LiveCD install

Bug Description

Windows XP NTFS partition on hda1, trying to install Ubuntu on fresh XFS hda2 partition.
Hardware is a 1ghz PIII laptop 384mb ram, onboard SiS video (shared memory), 20gb hd, had to start Ubuntu LiveCD with vga=771 switch.
Install crashes at grub-installer.

Thanks for your report. Due to some reliability problems with GRUB and XFS, you need to use a non-XFS root filesystem or create a non-XFS /boot filesystem. The fact that the partitioner doesn't warn you about this up-front is also bug 47848, and is fixed in dapper-updates.
