Bug Description
Possibly related to bug 54049 and bug 54103
1. Running Windows XP with all the latest and greatest service packs and patches.
2. Install free VMWare Server (http://
3. Create Ubuntu VM in VMWare
4. Reset VM with Ubuntu 6.06 CD in drive
5. Installer begins just dandy, chooses the 2 GB partition I'd allocated the VM and starts copying files. With a couple minutes left in the install (sorry I wasn't watching it to see where it died) the "Installer Crashed" dialog appeared.
I'll attach the requested log files.

Thanks for your report. I'm afraid that your disk seems to be too small to complete an Ubuntu desktop installation successfully. Bug 48355 notes that the partitioner should have warned you about this.
