Installer crash - Xubuntu installing to 1gb flash memory drive

Bug Description

Was installing Xubuntu to a 1GB Usb flash drive (partitioned automatically with the installer). File copying slow (as expected), after about an hour it crashed on 50%. No attempt at reproducing effect has been made (yet).

Pc details: AMD64 3800+, 1Gb memory, Nvidia 6800GT, No connected HDs at time.

Forgot to mention, this was from the Xubuntu Live CD.

I just noticed the problem...

syslog:
IOError: [Errno 28] No space left on device

Unfortunately no mention of space required was made during install (that i saw), and it appeared not to check available space before installing. Should that be added?
