Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

Installing Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx) to a virtual machine I go through the installer and tell it what my keyboard is. Testing my keys in the little text box shows they are working as set (Danish). But the next time the installer asks for text input (no manual partitioning) it is back to US keyboard. Sure enough if I click my way back to the keyboard setting it has the correct selection but in the textbox I can see it is not in force. So I reselect it and start the cycle again. Now, in the finally installed Lucid my keyboard is still set to USA. (I have no trouble fixing this under 'System > Preferences > Keyboard')

I can now see that I have ubiquity 2.1.14 (I updated the installer before running it). The log files 'media-info', 'version' and 'casper.log' didn't have anything useful. Hopefully this helps.

When logged into this virtual machine just now it was again set to USA keyboard map. I had deleted the USA keyboard config and added the danish - the danish is still there but USA has come back and was set as primary/default when I logged in.

This is still happening each time I log in, so this is not (only) a ubiquity bug.
