Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

Grub freezes after install. at grug> System had existing sda1 with XP, sda2 was 64bit Red hat. Formatted that partition to ext3 and installed ubuntu 9.10. note sda3 is swap and sda4 is an nfs file volume for sharing. Previous Grub had been working on this system as loaded when Red Hat was put onto system prior to installation of ubuntu.

I have been able to get xp up through cammand line from grub step by step. and could likely do the same for ubuntu. What is needed is reasonable method for repairing Grub install when failure of this nature occurs.

What would be simple method from this point?
