This is reported for 9.10 but seem to be related to the previous reports for 8.10 and 9.04.
Ubiquity crashes 100% of the time on my Thinkpad T60p.

Never mind, you can close the report.
I found out that IBM seems to have modified the installer to download some stoff from their intranet.
If no intranet connection is available it just crashes. So no problem with the ubuntu code.
