Bug Description

Ubiquity should provide an "Advanced" expander to show detail about what it's doing while configuring the installed system.

Your suggestion is appreciated, although in future I'd appreciate it if you left out the insinuations that the installer is lying and the comparisons with Windows; they're needlessly inflammatory.

OK. Sorry for the sentence about "not telling the truth" (it's a bit different from lying).

But comparising to other operating systems (even that from Redmond) was intended to point out the weak points of software. We should take advantages of good ideas and not repeat any mistakes.

Any way - thanks for your involvement. :)

What is the current status on this bug?

As far as I can remember, there is no advanced mode for ubiquity yet to show what it's doing more precisely, but as it is a simple installer targeted for simple users, this is the right decision.

Can anyone reconfirm that this still is a valid issue, or should it be set as an Opinion type bug, or maybe even Invalid?

Actually this bug has been fixed for maverick. There is an expander that shows verbosely what's going on.
