Please attach the log files the crash dialog asked you to attach (/var/log/installer/syslog, /var/log/syslog, and /var/log/partman), using the "Add Attachment" link on this bug's web page.

Grzegorz Szymański (czadman) wrote : partitioning

I'v partitioned disk on which I tried install kubuntu. Due to information about partitions' sizes everything was all right. But it seems in the next step installer cannot properly re-read partitions size, hence I got information about too small partition assigned to / . I'v shown this on next attachment. I had to cancel installation and start again (without restart machine).
After w few attempts installer have re-read partitions sizes properly and could pass to next step. But after all installation failed.

During partitioning disk I'v got message:
"There was a problem with mkfs.xfs"

I gave you requested informations with hope their will be useful. :)

With regards Grzegorz.

Thanks for your report. You need to use a non-XFS root filesystem or create a non-XFS /boot filesystem. Bug 47848 is filed to note that the partitioner should warn you about this up-front.
