I also get the Error Code 1 bug. Installer gets to a simlarly large %, then crashes out. Tried again, same thing. Tried both Ubuntu and Xubuntu, same error.

synergy6.googlepages.com/log.zip is my /var/log file from the Ubuntu attempt, same important bits in the Xubuntu attempt.

I also get the same behavior and error messages on attempting to install Xubuntu 6.06 LTS on my home "whitebox" computer. This box has an AMD Athalon 1.1 GHz processor.

On the other hand, I had no trouble installing this OS on a Dell work computer with a 900 MHz P4 processor.

In both cases I selected to use the entire hard drive (i.e., fresh install).

Thanks for your report. This is also bug 47848; you must use a non-XFS root filesystem or create a non-XFS /boot filesystem.

Other folks, please file fresh bugs if you want me to look at them. The traceback reported here can have multiple causes and I will not deal with them all in a single bug report.
