Bug Description

I installed Karmic on six computers (four desktops and two laptops). On two of the four desktop installer does not display the SATA hard disks. Hard drives are however fully recognized by the operating system: I can also explore it with nautilus or partition with gparted.

Here are two screenshots that illustrate the problem:
Intel E5200: http://i34.tinypic.com/dwcb5j.png
AMD X2-4200: http://i37.tinypic.com/kcahs.png

The problem occurs with both the livecd version and with the alternate. I tried only the 32-bit version.

Attached are the logs of the two computers.

In all previous versions of ubuntu, Jaunty included, SATA hard drives have always been recognized (see log attached).

Excuse me if I speak only now that Karmic is out.
