I got this error when I was going about to install ubuntu..
ubi-language failed with exit code 141. Further information may be found in /var/log/syslog. Do you want to try running this step again before continuing? If you do not, your installation may fail entirely or may be broken.

i have got this error when i install ubiquity

This issue is also in Lucid Xubuntu. Installation was with the lucid-desktop-i386.iso dated 2010-02-16 and 2010-02-17.

I get the same problem on a new Lenovo X220. Is there a work-around?

I suspect that installing from the Oneiric 11.10 Alternate CD, so using a text based installer user interface, not ubiquity, will work around this.
