Binary package hint: partman-
Partman asks if i want to install both side by side whereas there is no other OS detected (and indeed there was no other OS)
The question sounds weird.
see screenshot attached (on a french installation of Karmic alpha 5)

We should have a different message for the resize option when os-prober does not return any operating system names for the disk the partition we are resizing resides on.
