Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

I wish I could attach the files, but the installer itself crashed...
/usr/lib/ubiquity/ubiquity/zoommap.py line 297 in load_pixmap :
can not load pixmap file .../earth.jpg
I think it's due to low memory ( 196MB laptop ) and there was not enough memory for the jpeg decomp.

From here nothing loads, all rc2.d scripts complain for "no space left on device"

JFYI, Ubuntu 9.04 install and final as well as Linux Mint 5 & 7 all install and run without a problem.
Can you reduce the footprint please?

Thank you.

With 196MB, RAM could defiantly be the problem. I recommend the Alternate install CD.

MIB.42, Can you please reproduce the crash from the easy peasy live cd, then run the following command to gather information about the crash, this will automatically update the bug with the newly acquired info:

$ apport-collect 418909
