Bug Description

I downloaded DapperDrakeBeta and tried to install from the live CD. I can go through all steps including manual partitioning (I wanted to re-use existing partitions).

If I choose [x] reformat partition, the partitioning tool aborts after 15%. Manual reformatting using GParted is no problem and works fine.

Anyway, I have my partitions setup, and continue installation with manual partitioning by assigning partitions /, /boot, /home and swap as desired. Installation starts, but after 9%, the installation window disappears and nothing else happens. No error, no process running - just the live system working fine.

I examined /var/log/messages, /var/log/syslog, but found no messages on this topic.

System information:
Athlon XP 1600
two harddisks:
hda 40 GB with free partition for DapperDrake and Breezy and WinME installed
hdb 2 GB for swap and current /home

I need you to run the installer with 'ESPRESSO_DEBUG=1 sudo espresso' from a terminal window, reproduce the problem, and send me /var/log/installer/espresso. (Make sure to use a throwaway password, as in debug mode the password will appear in the log file.)

partman-basicfilesystems/check_failed is asked but we don't handle that yet.

Thanks for the log. I'll make this a duplicate of bug 39734, as that one was filed earlier; the two bugs describe essentially the same problem.
