2006-04-23 18:21:59 Colin Watson ubiquity: statusexplanation The destructive effects of this problem should be fixed in ubiquity 0.99.64, which should be available on daily live CDs as of tomorrow or so. My apologies for any inconvenience and/or data loss caused. See bug 40464 for suggestions on recovering damaged partition tables. I still need to find out why the installer crashed in the first place. To that end, if you're still willing, I'd like you to download a daily live CD from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/; before downloading, look at the .manifest file alongside the .iso you want and verify that the version of the ubiquity package listed there is at least 0.99.64. Then run 'UBIQUITY_DEBUG=1 sudo ubiquity' in a terminal window, reproduce the crash if possible, and attach /var/log/installer/syslog to this bug. Thanks in advance!

I believe that this bug has been fixed, but without log files I cannot be sure. dr3as, if you can reproduce this bug with Ubuntu 6.06.1, please reopen this bug and attach /var/log/installer/syslog, /var/log/syslog, and /var/log/partman. Anyone else, please file a new bug.
