ubiquity crashed with RuntimeError in progress_loop()

I think the title speaks by itself. The crash happens few seconds after the install starts.

Notice I'm using VGA drivers (because of another bug), and this particular bug doesn't happen if I don't choose the safe graphics mode.

I can't comment on the bug of which this is reported as duplicate because it's private, but I wanted to add that:
- this bug always came in conjuction with bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/353956
- an install with the alternate CD went on perfectly
