Binary package hint: ubiquity
Ran Ubuntu Intrepid live mode (in German) from a CD that has been confirmed to be okay and clicked "Installieren". Has been installed to newly created partition /dev/sdb11. After installation, ubiquity crashed and the system behaves strange (doesn't react accordingly to mouse clicks).

Title: ubiquity crashed with InstallStepError in configure_
Uname: Linux 2.6.27-7-generic x86_64
UserGroups:
After installation, in /boot there is no "grub" directory. In /, there is a link "vmlinuz" to the kernel that is in /boot, but the link "initrd.img" that should point to /boot/initrd. img-2.6. 27-7-generic in invalid, because there is no file on the partition that begins with "initrd" at all.
