Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

RELEASE: Intrepid
CD/DVD VARIANT: Ubuntu 32 bit desktop cd
ISO BUILD: 20080903

When creating a new partition under manual partitioning, trying to get the partitioner to fill up the remaining available space did not succeed. On a blank 10GB vmware disk partition, the steps were:

  1) Create a new ~6000MB ext3 partition for /
  2) Create a new ~1000MB swap partition
  3) Create a new ext3 partition for /home using remaining space (3734MB reported by partitioner);
  - entering either 3734MB or some greater number resulted in a partition of size 3635MB being created, with 98MB left unused (attempts to create a partition in this remaining space resulted in an 8MB partition with 90MB free).

ubiquity 1.9.10 from /var/log/installer/version

I'm seeing this as well, on the alpha 5 of intrepid.

Very odd.

This bug was fixed in the package ubiquity - 1.9.15

ubiquity (1.9.15) intrepid; urgency=low

  * GTK frontend:
    - Don't set page_size in GtkAdjustments; as of GTK+ 2.14 it causes the
      value to be clamped to upper - page_size (LP: #264599).

I've confirmed that this fix has made it into the live i386 cd build 20080917.1 and does indeed address bug 264595 as well. Thanks Colin!
