Installation starts but fails with "disk full" error

Bug Description

4 GB harddisk: install procedure reports "not enough disk space"
5 GB harddisk: install starts, but then fails with "disk full" error
6 GB harddisk: install suceeds

Ubuntu 8.04, Hardy

Can you add /var/log/installer/syslog and /var/log/installer/partman files ? Thanks in advance.

I only found these files in /var/log/, not /var/log/installer. I hope they are the correct ones. Within /var/log/installer/ I only have the files debug, dm and version.
