install fails about 4/5 of the way in

Bug Description

even after repeated attempts, some with full shutdown of Windows installation before booting from installation USB (UEFI has fast-boot and secure-boot disabled, hibernate and sleep disabled in Windows OS) HOWEVER there is 1 NTFS partition on the HDD being used for this installation, but it is for cross-platform data transfers and archiving only.
