i cant install the new 18.10 os the installer foratted my drive but wont install. it left me with no operating system and therefore,a computer with no use

Thank you for your bug report, from the log it looks like the image is corrupted (either faulty download or device), you should try download/writing the image again (maybe on another media)

the log has
'SQUASHFS error: zlib decompression failed, data probably corrupt'
