I selected advanced install, formatted an ext3 fs and it crashed at about the 20% mark.
I have partman and syslog if needed.

Thanks for the bug report.

Did you by chance use a username or password with spaces or non alphanumeric
passwords anywhere?

Please list all the details you chose for your advanced install and the types of
characters used in each password if you can. Thanks!

I used a * in my password. After the installer crashes twice in advanced
mode, I switched to beginner or whatever the other option is and it worked
fine.

I formatted one preexisting linux parttion for /
used swap that was already there
created mount points for 3 windows partitions
set Time to PST
enabled vnc, mythremote and set passwords for each. (I used an & for mysql,
but all alphanumeric for vnc)
all plugins were enabled

I think that's about it.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
