Bug Description
Beforehand, I'd like to apologize if I'm reporting something inconsistent, but I believe that somehow what I'm reporting can be useful.
I've been testing bionic Ubuntu since before the first alphas, so the first bionic installation iso came out at "http://
The problem is that all this time I installed and removed a lot of things so that my ubuntu got a bit messy. So I decided to take advantage of the beta2 release to perform a fresh re-installation.
The problem is that I have been trying this with the "isos" available at "http://
My computer is a dell inspiron 7000 series gaming notebook with the following configuration of video cards:
$ lspci -k | grep -A 2 -i "VGA"
00: 02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Device 591b (rev 04)
Subsystem: Dell Device 0798
Kernel driver in use: i915
-
01: 00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GP107M [GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Mobile] (rev a1)
Subsystem: Dell GP107M [GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Mobile]
Kernel driver in use: nvidia
This weekend I have read many articles from people who have been able to install bionic beta2 normally, so I think my problem is related to my hardware. So I decided to report this bug for informational purposes only.

I also note that during these 3 months (or more) of testing I had several problems related to the nouveal and nvidia drivers available in the "devel" repositories for bionic.
Almost all kernel upgrades with dkms recompilation, there were compilation or configuration errors of the drives, sometimes nvidia ora nouveal, that I needed to be alternating, installing, reinstalling, removing, overlapping, repeatedly trying to get a reconfiguration to recover the normal operation of the graphical interface.
Despite the work I believe I was successful and I was able to maintain my goal of helping to test ubuntu during this time, reporting, as far as possible, the problems I encountered.
What was really striking was all these compatibility issues between the new linux kernel, the bionic graphics drivers, and the graphical nvidia/intel hardware structure available in this dell notebook.
