Bug Description
I tried to install Ubuntu YakketyYak from the boot media (on a USB flash drive) to an external USB hard drive, but the installer crashed partway through the installation, claiming that it had run into an input/output error. I checked the USB connections to the computer and the external hard drive, restarted the computer, and tried the install again, only to get the exact same error at close to the same point in the installation. On the off chance that the USB port I had it plugged into was faulty, I plugged it into a different port and tried yet again, only to get the same error at almost the same time. Now pondering if it was a problem with the external hard drive itself or with its connector cable, I tried installing to a second USB flash drive. Same result at pretty much the same point in the installation, and here I am...
