Adjusting the VM to use a 10GB disk, the auto-resize option appears. I'm given an option for a 4.9GB Xubuntu install and a 5.8GB Ubuntu 15.10 install (the 4.9GB Xubuntu install includes the swap partition). The slider to resize the partitions doesn't work, even though the 15.10 install needs much less space.
But then when I try to continue, I'm given a warning that the / partition is less than 3.5GB. Even though the slider didn't react, the partitions that were created are 7.2GB for the original partition, 1.8GB for the new / partition, and 1GB for the new swap partition.
And then the installer crashed due to lack of disk space.
