grub2 installation fails drugin install. Its trying to install on install media

Description: Ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS
Release: 14.04

Installation fails at grub isntall.

Attempted to manually mount target volumes and run grub-install and update grub in chroot. Get the following:

grub-probe: error: cannot find a GRUB drive for /dev/sdk1. Check your

/dev/sdk1 is the installation usb drive, the wrong volume.
