Kubuntu 16.04 installer crashes

Bug Description

The Kubuntu 16.04 installer is currently not working. It's utterly useless. Cannot get past the "Prepare" step.

how can this have been reported in January and not fix by release of LTS ?

I am trying to get you a new user and now she looks at this puzzled.
