installer crashes when starting in virtualbox

I just started the installer from Beta 2 and as soon as I confirm the partitions on the HDD and press install the setup crashes. This happened when using the guided installation as well as with a manual partition with BTRFS.

I am using VirtualBox 4.3.26.

It looks like 512 mb of ram is not sufficient any more... ubiquity ran out of memory.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. If you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running only once:
apport-collect 1437513

and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

Are you serious? :D This bug is three years old, I have no idea what happened back then. It should be fixed by now since I regularly install it in VirtualBox.
