Bug Description
Using a hp mini 110 (default screen resolution 1024x576).
Upon loading the livecd for installing, the system boots successfully and displays the wallpaper. However the install/try screen doesn't appear.
Doing alt+tab will show that the install/try screen has loaded.
Pressing space will select the default "install" and proceed to the next step, which does appear on the screen.

I was testing this on a Dell mini9 netbook with similar default resolution and encountered this bug as well.

This was run via a USB stick using usb-creator-gtk during a testing event we were both at, the stick worked fine on other (larger) laptops.

Tested today's daily for ubuntu unity, and the try/install screen appears as expected, so the issue might be limited to xubuntu. Will test kubuntu next.

Doesn't seem to affect Kubuntu's installer which needs to be launched by the user anyway.

Loaded up a Utopic live usb and the try/install screen appears.
