I am unable to install Ubuntu 14.10(64-bit PC(AMD64)desktop image on my virtualbox. My hostmachine is Kubuntu14.04 runing a virtualbox version- 4.3.10-

Can you describe what exactly is occurring here? Does the installer boot? Try assigning more disk space to your virtual machine.
You are also running an old version of virtualbox; try updating it and see if the problem still occurs.
